About The Parlor

WHERE IT ALL STARTED

I started The Joy Guild in 2007 at The Greenwood Collective in Seattle, Washington. While working a day job in corporate marketing, I decided to launch a side gig as an outlet for my creative interests, spanning way back to the 80s when I first attended summer art camp as a kid. Through 2015, my small studio learning space grew into offsite programs and retreats focused on creativity workshops for adults that were in search of a similar escape and creative outlet. Art Camp for Big Kids was born, in locations all around the Pacific Northwest.

HERE WE ARE, TODAY

Now operating as “The Parlor Mercantile & Haberdashery” headquartered in Cayucos, California, I’ve brought the same spirit of Art Camp for Big Kids to an expanded, elevated participant experience along with a new menu of activities that embrace and expand beyond the creative arts. The Parlor offers fun, creative programs from one of the most beautiful and relaxed California beach towns to select locations throughout California.

The Parlor is a program of The Joy Guild and offers art classes, coastal retreats, curated goods, retail pop-ups, and small business workshops.
